A close study of a bearded iris as its petals begin to open and unfold.
I have always loved irises, particularly the transformation from the tightly packed bud into the complex structure of the open flower. In Unfurling, I wanted to get close to that process, concentrating on the folds, creases and changing colours of the petals as the flower opens.
