It Begins in the Landscape
Many of my paintings begin long before I reach the studio.
Walking the hills and wild places of Scotland lets me observe plants in their natural habitat and record their form, colour, and character.
The Artist
I’m a botanical artist based in Aberdeenshire, inspired by Scotland’s wild plants and landscapes, from the hills of the north-east to the Cairngorms.
I studied Botanical Illustration at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh and graduated with Distinction. My training taught me to look closely and notice the small details that give each plant its individual character.
