Botanical Illustration Inspired by Hiking in Scotland

A Journey Through Scottish Wildflowers

Rosehip Evolution botanical illustration

When I’m not immersed in my art, you’ll find me seeking adventure amidst the local hills and munros, exploring the wonders of the great outdoors. It is here, amidst the stunning landscapes of Scotland, that I draw inspiration, observing and studying Scottish wildflowers.

Welcome to the captivating world of botanical illustration! Step into my virtual gallery and blog, where nature comes alive through my artistic lens.

Fueled by a deep-rooted passion for the natural world, I recently completed a botanical illustration diploma. I studied online with the Royal Botanical Garden Edinburgh. This journey has allowed me to delve deeper into the intricate details of plants. I translate their beauty onto paper with meticulous care.

Within the cosy confines of my home studio, affectionately known as “the shed,” I pour heart and soul into every stroke, breathing life into works of art across various mediums. Whether you’re seeking commissioned botanical illustrations crafted with delicate watercolour, intricate pen & ink renderings or vibrant digital illustrations infusing botanical art with a modern and fun twist, get in touch and let’s begin our botanical adventure together.

Discover Scottish Wildflowers

My artistic journey is deeply intertwined with the exploration of Scottish wildflowers. From the vibrant foxgloves gracing the woodland edges to the delicate cottongrass swaying in the Highland moorlands, these wildflowers, with their unique beauty, are a constant source of inspiration.

Hiking Scotland’s Scenic Trails

I combine my love for botanical illustration with adventures in the great outdoors. Hiking in Scotland offers me unparalleled opportunities to experience the country’s wild beauty firsthand. Whether exploring local hills or challenging myself with a munro, hiking Scotland’s trails allows me to discover wildflowers in their natural habitats, providing endless inspiration for my artwork.
