Whispers of the Moor: Hare’s-Tail Cottongrass in Watercolour

In my watercolour botanical illustration of the hare’s-tail cottongrass, Eriophorum vaginatum, I aimed to capture the delicate beauty and ethereal quality of its slender stems and wispy white tufts. This piece highlights the intricate details and subtle textures that make this plant so captivating, as observed during my hikes on the Bennachie and the local hills. This painting was one of my final five pieces for the Royal Botanical Garden’s Diploma course.
