Eriophorum vaginatum

One of the most striking sights on Scotland’s moorland in early summer, Hare’s-tail Cottongrass transforms stretches of dark, peaty hillside with its distinctive white seed heads.
This painting was created as part of my final-year project for the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh Diploma in Botanical Illustration, exploring the character and botanical detail of Scotland’s wild plants.
